This project renovated the Botany Building for continued use by the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology of the Division of Life Sciences. The 4-level 37,350 gsf building, located adjacent to the Mildred E. Mathias Botanical Garden, has not undergone a major renovation since the building was constructed in 1959. The project provided the department with modern wet and dry labs for research and teaching, related lab support, and offices for principal investigators and post-doctoral students. Structural upgrades to improve the seismic rating from Level V to Level III and related accessibility and fire/life safety upgrades were also provided.
