The University seeks to hire a contractor to perform plumbing construction work on an "as needed" basis that will be delivered by Unit Price Job Order (UPJO), and occur on the UCLA Westwood campus as well as off-campus facilities owned by the University. As described in more detail in the Bidding Documents, work under the UPJO will be limited to the following: Plumbing work related to Minor Improvement Projects as well as work which includes repairs of, or alterations to, campus buildings, structures, or facilities to continue their usability at the designed level of service. Each Job Order shall have at least 51% of the work within the advertised license classification specified herein. Work outside said license classification may be self-performed by Contractor when said work is considered incidental and supplemental to the performance of the work in the craft for which the specialty contractor is licensed and is essential to the accomplishment of the work in which the contractor is classified. In such cases, the value of said incidental and supplemental work shall not exceed 5% of the Job Order Sum. If the work outside the Contractor’s license classification exceeds 5% of the Job Order Sum, then Contractor must either hold the appropriate additional specialty license classification or subcontract the work to an appropriately licensed subcontractor. Refer to Exhibit 21 of the bidding documents for work excluded from this UPJO. The total combined cost for all Job Orders issued will not exceed the Maximum Contract Value of $5,000,000.00 during the 1-year Base Term and $5,000,000.00 during each 1-year Option Term, if exercised by University. When the work of a job consists only of the trade of this UPJO, the cost of any individual Job Order Authorization will be from $50,000.00 to $500,000.00. When the work of a job consists of multiple trades, the cost of any individual Job Order Authorization for this UPJO will be from $500.00 to $500,000.00. The scope of work includes bringing power to and installing 8 new, University-furnished EV chargers in the Transit Yard. The power will be drawn from an existing University manhole to feed a new, Contractor-furnished transformer and switchgear that will be provided as part of this project. A new enclosure will be built for the new electrical equipment. Saw cut and removal of the asphalt and concrete will be done to place underground conduits from the manhole to the enclosure, and from the enclosure throughout the Transit Yard, as required. The project will replace the obsolete Rauland Responder IV nurse call system in the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center (RRUMC). The project scope includes decommissioning of the existing Rauland Responder IV nurse call system throughout RRUMC, including disconnecting and removing Rauland nurse call buttons, consoles, and wall-mounted and bedside units; upgrades and modifications to the existing low-voltage electrical systems, including the installation of new receptacles, network cabling, conduits, and nurse call stations; installation of new Hill-Rom nurse call system components in patient rooms, bathrooms, hallways, and nurse stations, including new nurse call buttons near each patient bed, wall-mounted devices, consoles, display panels, and corridor and over-door lights; integration with other hospital systems, including alarm, paging and communication, electronic health records, and fire life safety systems; upgrade of communication consoles within individual distribution frame rooms; and testing and commissioning of all new Hill-Rom system components, including safety and compliance and backup power testing. Contractor shall provide waterproofing of the UCLA Cogeneration plant cooling tower concrete basins located on the Facilities Management building roof. The rooftop basins collect water from cooling towers to feed chillers that supply cooling water for campus HVAC equipment. As a part of maintenance programs, the concrete basins need a new waterproofing membrane. To comply with campus cooling need the project is intended to take place in up to (3) construction phases during the winter months where (4) concrete basins of varying sizes will need to be prepped and waterproofed. The timing of shutdowns is critical. Sequencing of the four tower closures and work to be done is necessary to maintain campus operations with minimal loads to the COGEN Plant.
