This Project consists of tenant improvement work for the Employee Health Clinic’s relocation to the 1st floor of the Center for Health Sciences (CHS) South Tower. The Project will provide examination, blood draw, consultation rooms and administration spaces, and is approximately 2,500 square feet with a 450 square foot office suite. Work scope shall include providing demolition, alterations and additions to the building’s mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire alarm and fire sprinkler systems; new lighting; casework; flooring, ceilings; glazing; doors and hardware. All work shall occur in an occupied building with restricted hours for the performance of all noise producing work and to access areas below the Project Site. The project shall require night and or weekend work to accommodate these work restrictions.

The project will reconfigure existing suite B265 to accommodate MRI simulator, CT simulator, and HDR (high-dose rate) imaging equipment used for patient treatment and medical research. Work includes the construction of new simulator and control rooms for the MRI and CT equipment; an HDR procedure room; equipment rooms; a hot lab; and related staff and patient support space. The new MRI and CT equipment will be procured by University and installed and tested, in B265, by the equipment manufacturer. The Contractor shall work with University and Equipment manufacturer for coordination of the installation. The Contractor shall provide structural support for the path of travel of the MRI. The contractor shall provide power connections and anchoring of the equipment.

Specific work shall include demolition of improvements in the way of the proposed work; provision of equipment anchoring and framing; provision of foundation to support lead bricks, provision of utilities; provision of telephone data conduits, nurse’s call system, and security system; modifications to building systems to support the program; provision of casework; and finishes.

Subject to conditions prescribed by the University of California, Los Angeles, sealed bids for a lump sum contract are invited for the following work:

Provide the labor and equipment to clean the ductwork systems and air handler units located in The Public Affairs Building.

Scope of Work:
A. The Contractor shall clean the HVAC components and verify the cleanliness through inspection and/or testing in accordance with items specified in the Bidding Documents and applicable NADCA Standards.
B. Duct cleaning shall be limited to all supply air pathways including the supply fan unit, distribution ducting, risers, turning vanes, laterals to terminal units and diffusers. Also included is the cleaning of return air, exhaust air and transfer air diffusers and grilles.
C. Prior to any duct cleaning, submit digital photographs of the as-is condition of all ductwork.
D. Remove visible surface contaminants and deposits from within the HVAC system in accordance with the Bidding Documents.
E. The HVAC system is defined to include all interior surfaces of the facility’s air distribution system, including internally lined ductwork as indicated in the Contract Documents and floor plan drawings. This includes ducts from the points where the air enters the system to the points where the air is discharged from the system. Coat all internally lined ductwork with a biocidal growth inhibitor.
F. Encapsulate all internally lined ductwork with a water based protective coating to seal all surfaces. Encapsulation shall begin immediately at the air handler, and extend 20’-0” down the ductwork unless otherwise noted by University’s Representative.
G. Report all missing or degraded insulation. The cost for repair or replacement of missing or degraded insulation, as approved by the University Representative, shall be compensated as provided under the Unit Price, and is not part of the Base Bid Work. See Bid Form and Section 01 21 00.

Deliverables after Award of Contract (NOT AT TIME OF BID):
A. Product Data: Submit product description and list of materials.
B. Submit digital photographs of the as-is condition of all ductwork.
C. Submit digital photograph of the ductwork interiors after the work is complete. The “after” photographs shall correspond to the “before” photographs for validation of the work.
D. Process: Submit complete process for treatment, encapsulation and repair.
All work shall be completed outside normal business hours to avoid disruptions to the building occupants and to the building environment.

The estimated construction cost is $412,000.00.

Modifications of existing air handling units (AHU)s in the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center hospital building. Work includes providing reheat coils, desaturation coils, chilled water recirculation pumps and associated piping and electrical work. The project scope also includes providing new variable speed drives for existing exhaust fans. The AHUs and exhaust fans are located on the third, roof and penthouse levels of the hospital building.

The work will be performed in a continuously occupied and operating hospital. Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD) is the authority having jurisdiction on this building. Work that requires shut down of utility services must be performed on weekends and in some cases during the night hours on weekends. The scope of work also includes temporary design and provision of temporary cooling and air handling during shut down of certain AHUs serving sensitive areas.
