This Project shall renovate approximately 5,814 GSF on the first floor of the 200 Medical Plaza Building (MP200) to improve Suite 135 for continued use by the Department of Pharmacy. The Project shall reconfigure the existing suite - accommodating a retail pharmacy and a clinic and research pharmacy - to provide a pharmaceutical services facility compliant with new regulations for handling and compounding hazardous drugs. The renovated clinic and research pharmacy shall provide hazardous and non-hazardous intravenous (IV) sterile compounding rooms, an ante room, and IV workstation area; controlled storage rooms for narcotics and hazardous drugs; pharmacist workstations; research workstations, and a shipping and receiving area. The renovated retail pharmacy shall include customer encountering stations, a picking and dispensing area, a shot room, and administrative offices. The suite shall be served by a dedicated exhaust system and an air handling unit installed on the second floor patio. The scope of work shall include: demolition of improvements in the way of work; construction of demising walls and room partitions; provision of ceilings, lighting, high-density shelving, fixtures, and finishes; modifications to building systems to accommodate the program; provision of power, conduit, and cabling; provision of an air distribution system and controls; systems testing and balancing; and repairs to building finishes impacted by the Work.

The University seeks to hire a contractor to perform Plumbing construction work on an "as needed" basis that will be delivered by Unit Price Job Order (UPJO), and occurring on the UCLA Westwood campus as well as off-campus facilities owned by the University. As described in more detail in the Bidding Documents, work under the UPJO will be limited to the following:

Plumbing and HVAC insulation construction work related to Minor Capital Improvement Projects as well as work which includes repairs of, or alterations to, buildings, structures, or facilities to continue their usability at the designed level of service.

Each Job Order shall have at least 51% of the work within the advertised license classification specified herein. Work outside said license classification may be self-performed by Contractor when said work is considered incidental and supplemental to the performance of the work in the craft for which the specialty contractor is licensed and is essential to the accomplishment of the work in which the contractor is classified. In such cases, the value of said incidental and supplemental work shall not exceed 5% of the Job Order Sum. If the work outside the Contractor’s license classification exceeds 5% of the Job Order Sum, then Contractor must either hold the appropriate additional specialty license classification or subcontract the work to an appropriately licensed subcontractor.

Refer to Exhibit 21 of the bidding documents for Plumbing and HVAC Insulation construction work excluded from this UPJO.

The total combined cost for all Job Orders issued will not exceed the Maximum Contract Value of $750,000.00 during the 1-year Base Term and $750,000.00 during each 1-year Option Term, if exercised by University.

The cost of any individual Job Order Authorization will be from $250.00 to $200,000.00.

Subject to conditions prescribed by the University of California, Los Angeles, sealed bids for a lump-sum contract are invited from prequalified Concrete & Formwork subcontractors (hereinafter “Subcontractors”) for the following work:

1. Overall Project Description: The Project is located on the existing Warren Hall and Hillblom Center site in the Southwest campus zone, at 900 Weyburn Place North, west of Weyburn Place and north of Weyburn Avenue. The Project shall accommodate approximately 321 graduate beds and 1,958 upper-division undergraduate beds in apartment units. The unit types shall be a combination of two-, three-, and four-bedroom apartments, with the majority of them 4 Bedrooms/4 Beds for graduates and 4 Bedrooms/8 Beds for undergraduates. Student support space shall include ground level multi- purpose space, common study, meeting, mailroom, laundry facilities. Warren Hall, a 102,200 GSF laboratory and office building built in 1961, and Hillblom Center, a 7,200 GSF research building built in 2004, shall be demolished. The development shall consist of (3) mid-rise Type-I concrete frame buildings totaling up to 591,100GSF. The buildings shall range from 8 to 10 levels, and shall be similar in construction type and design to Weyburn Terrace apartments that were completed in 2013. The exterior materials may include: integral color stucco cladding; pre-cast concrete and ceramic tile trim and cladding; commercial-grade, dark, anodized aluminum sash; and concrete tile roofing. The Project shall comply with the University of California Policy on Sustainable Practices and achieve a minimum LEED – NC Silver and target to achieve a LEED – NC Gold Certification rating.

2. Bid Package 06 Concrete & Formwork Description: Provide approximately 591,100 GSF of elevated deck and slab on grade including foundations. Work includes the provision of all cast-in-place or shotcrete shear walls, cast-in-place columns and architectural columns, all structural excavation, form work and cast-in-place scope complete. Work also includes the provision, management and operating of (3-6) tower cranes, including erection and dismantling; and provision, management and operating of (3) 2 car man lifts and (1) single car man lift, including loading and exit platforms and speaker systems. Provision of all power for the cranes and man lifts and management and maintenance of loading and unloading zones is also included as part of this Bid Package. Provision of reinforcing steel (rebar) is not included in this Bid Package and will be bid as a separate Bid Package.

NOTE: The successful bidder’s subcontract will be with PCL Construction Services, Inc., the CM/Contractor on this project.
