Project Description
Subject to conditions prescribed by the University of California, Los Angeles, sealed bids for a Job Order Contract are invited for the following work:

University seeks to hire a Contractor to perform telecommunications structured cabling work that will be delivered by Job Order Contracts (JOC). As described in more details in the Bidding Documents, Work under the JOC will be limited to the following:

1. Intra-building and Inter-building structured cabling backbone work where the value of each job performed is between $1 and $250,000 and where the work is performed on the UCLA campus and off-campus University owned buildings.

2. Intra-building and Inter-building structured cabling backbone maintenance work where the value of each job performed is between $1 and $250,000 and where the work is performed on the UCLA campus and off-campus University owned buildings.

The following facility is excluded from this contract:

1. The UCLA Lake Arrowhead Conference Center located in Lake Arrowhead, CA.

The Job Order Contract will have a Maximum Contract Value of $1,500,000.00 for the 1-year Base Term, and $1,500,000.00 during each 1-year Option Term, if exercised by University.

Subject to conditions prescribed by the University of California, Los Angeles, responses to the University's prequalification documents for a series of (3) lump sum contracts are sought from prospective Duct Cleaning prime contractor bidders (hereafter “bidders”) for the following project.

The University has determined that bidders who submit bids on this series of (3) Contracts must be prequalified.

Contract #1 Gonda (Goldschmied) Neuroscience and Genetics Research Center 125,202 sq. ft.

Contract #2 MRL Gordon and Virginia Macdonald Medical Research Laboratories Building 137,874 sq. ft.

Contract #3 MSB Molecular Sciences Building Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry 139,207 sq. ft.

SCOPE OF WORK FOR EACH BID PACKAGE: Provide the labor, material and equipment to clean the specified building’s ductwork systems and air handler units as specified below.

A. Contractor shall clean all HVAC components and verify the cleanliness through inspection and/or testing in accordance with items specified herein and applicable NADCA Standards.

B. Contractor shall clean all supply air pathways including the supply fan unit, distribution ducting, risers, turning vanes, laterals to terminal units and diffusers; and clean all return air, exhaust air and transfer air diffusers or grills.

C. Prior to any duct cleaning, Contractor shall submit digital photographs of the as-is condition of all ductwork.

D. Remove visible surface contaminants and deposits from within the HVAC system in strict accordance with these specifications.

E. The HVAC system shall be defined to include any interior surface of the facility’s air distribution system containing internally lined ductwork as indicated in the contract documents and floor plan drawings. This includes ducts from the points where the air enters the system to the points where the air is discharged from the system. Contractor shall coat all internally lined ductwork with a biocidal growth inhibitor.

F. Prior to cleaning any supply air grills and registers, Contractor shall remove after-market installed particular filters and dispose/recycle, remove and re-hang any air deflector sheet metal below supply air grills and registers.

G. Contractor shall encapsulate all internally lined ductwork with a water based protective coating to seal all surfaces. Encapsulation shall begin immediately at the air handler, and extend 20’-0” down the ductwork unless otherwise noted by University’s Representative.

H. Report all missing or degraded insulation and repair or replace as approved by the University’s Representative.

Deliverables:

A. Product Data: Submit product description and list of materials.

B. Submit digital photographs of the as-is condition of all ductwork.

C. Submit digital photograph of the ductwork interiors after the work is complete. The “after” photographs shall correspond to the “before” photographs for validation of the work.

D. Process: Submit complete process for treatment, encapsulation and repair.

All work shall be performed at night.

Renovation of CHS 105A for the installation of a new GE Cyclotron by others. Contractor shall provide improvements to the approximately 1,497 square feet CHS 105A for the installation of the new Cyclotron by others.

Contractor shall coordinate and work with University and University’s Consultants for installation of the Cyclotron and cyclotron commissioning by others. Coordination shall include breaks in Contractor’s work to allow Consultant to install Cyclotron, followed by Contractor’s completion of improvements.

Additional work shall include the demolition and legal disposal of irradiated concrete slab and provision of new concrete slab. See Section 01 35 13 for additional requirements.
