Subject to conditions prescribed by the University of California, Los Angeles, sealed bids for a lump sum contract are invited for the following work:

The Project will consist of removing and disposing of the existing grease interceptors/holding tanks, sump pump and diverter valve located on the North Side of the Covel Commons. The exterior location of the tanks and pump is adjacent to a service driveway, loading dock, and Maintenance Yard. The existing vent pipes for the tanks and point of connection with the sewer lines located 5 feet from the building line shall be removed along with the ground cover and irrigation lines. The existing control panel and irrigation control valves shall be removed. A concrete walkway servicing the electrical room shall be demolished, allowing for removal and excavation of the existing tanks and pump.

Contractor shall furnish and install the new sewer lines, sewer laterals, vents diverter valves, irrigation and irrigation controller, grease interceptors, pump and controller at the same location as the removed equipment. A new, poured in place concrete sidewalk and curbs removed or damaged during excavation shall be provided by contractor. The University will furnish and install all landscape once work is complete.

Contractor shall submit deferred approval shoring design for University Representative’s approval.

Borings from the surrounding area were taken for soil contamination testing. No contamination was found. Geotechnical Report by Diaz Yourman & Associates can be found in the Information Available to Bidders.

Subject to conditions prescribed by the University of California, Los Angeles, sealed bids for a Unit Price Job Order ("UPJO") contract are invited for the following work:

The University seeks to hire a contractor to perform electrical construction work on an "as needed" basis that will be delivered by Unit Price Job Order (UPJO), and occur on the UCLA Westwood campus as well as off-campus facilities owned by the University. As described in more detail in the Bidding Documents, work under the UPJO will be limited to the following:

Electrical work related to Minor Capital Improvement Projects as well as work which includes repairs of, or alterations to, campus buildings, structures, or facilities to continue their usability at the designed level of service.

Each Job Order shall have at least 51% of the work within the advertised license classification specified herein. Work outside said license classification may be self-performed by Contractor when said work is considered incidental and supplemental to the performance of the work in the craft for which the specialty contractor is licensed and is essential to the accomplishment of the work in which the contractor is classified. In such cases, the value of said incidental and supplemental work shall not exceed 5% of the Job Order Sum. If the work outside the Contractor’s license classification exceeds 5% of the Job Order Sum, then Contractor must either hold the appropriate additional specialty license classification or subcontract the work to an appropriately licensed subcontractor.

The total combined cost for all Job Orders issued will not exceed the Maximum Contract Value of $5,000,000.00 during the 1-year Base Term and $5,000,000.00 during each 1-year Option Term, if exercised by University.

When the work of a job consists only of the trade of this UPJO, the cost of any individual Job Order Authorization will be from $50,000.00 to $500,000.00.

When the work of a job consists of multiple trades, the cost of any individual Job Order Authorization for this UPJO will be from $500.00 to $500,000.00.

Subject to conditions prescribed by the University of California, Los Angeles, responses to the University's prequalification documents for a CM at Risk contract (on which the University is considering utilizing Best Value Selection methodology) are sought from prospective General Contractors for the following work:

1. Overall Project Description:

The Project includes the removal of four (4) remote radiators and associated equipment located on the south side of the generator room and the provision of three (3) new 2500kW/3125kVA generators and paralleling gear.

Additional work includes the replacement of existing switchgear and associated systems and equipment, including an ATS monitoring and control system from the new switchgear to five (5) existing ATS hub rooms distributed throughout the CHS. Provision of related equipment such as active diesel particulate filters and provision of new conduits and conductors to the ATS hub rooms, to Geffen Hall, and to a monitoring station located in the CHS Fire Control Room. Construction of a new generator equipment enclosure with acoustic baffles to minimize sound impact; relocation of existing utilities and connection to an existing 10,000-gallon underground fuel tank, and an existing fuel polishing and feeder route system.

2. Preconstruction Service Description:

Development of construction schedules; bid packages; prequalification of subcontractors; bid package bidding; constructability review; construction cost analysis and estimating; development of a detailed construction sequence providing uninterrupted emergency power to CHS and Geffen Hall throughout construction (with the exception of short duration outages scheduled in advance with emergency power users); Site Utilization; Construction Barricades; Pedestrian & Vehicular Access and Signage Plans; and laser surveying and investigation to document existing conditions and to define a viable path for the installation of control conduit in the CHS complex.

3. Electrical Design-Assist Service Description:

Detailed site investigation for the installation of all electrical raceways/conduit and equipment in existing building locations. Identification of viable routing for electrical conduit from new paralleling gear to all ATS hub room locations. Electrical design and specification collaboration and assistance with the electrical engineer of record. Constructability review of electrical design at each document review phase prior to obtaining construction permit.

Project Description
Subject to conditions prescribed by the University of California, Los Angeles, sealed bids for a lump-sum contract are invited from prequalified Concrete subcontractors (hereinafter “Subcontractors”) for the following work:

1. Overall Project Description: A new housing development located on a multi-level site in the Northwest campus zone, west of De Neve Drive, south of the existing Hitch Suites, and north of the existing Saxon Suites. The Project shall accommodate up to approximately 1,800 beds for undergraduate students in designed triple rooms with community bathrooms. Support functions shall include common study, laundry, and vending facilities. Housing Maintenance storage of approximately 7,000 GSF shall be located in a basement level. The development shall consist of (2) mid-rise Type-I buildings totaling up to 343,000 GSF. The buildings shall range from 8 to 10 levels, and shall be similar in construction type and design to the recent Holly and Gardenia buildings. The structure shall be concrete with exterior cladding that may include: stucco; metal panel siding; pre-cast or contentious panels; commercial-grade, anodized aluminum sash.

The Project shall comply with the University of California Policy on Sustainable Practices and achieve a minimum LEED – NC Silver and target to achieve a LEED – NC Gold Certification rating.

2. Bid Package 09-Concrete Description: Provide approximately 343,000 GSF of elevated deck and slab on grade. Work includes the provision of all cast in place shear walls, cast in place columns and architectural columns, all structural excavation, formwork and cast in place scope complete. Work also includes the provision and management of three (3) tower cranes, including erection and dismantle; and provision and management of two (2), two-car man lifts, ten stops per lift, including loading and exit platforms and speaker systems. Provision of all power for the cranes and man lifts and management and maintenance of loading and unloading zones is also included as part of this bid package. Provision of reinforcing steel (Rebar) is not included in this Bid Package and will be bid as a separate Bid Package.

The successful bidder’s subcontract will be with PCL Construction Services, Inc., the CM/Contractor on this project.
