The University seeks to hire a contractor to perform electrical construction work on an "as needed" basis that will be delivered by Unit Price Job Order (UPJO), and occur on the UCLA Westwood campus as well as off-campus facilities owned by the University.

As described in more detail in the Bidding Documents, work under the UPJO will be limited to the following:

Electrical construction work related to Minor Improvement Projects as well as work which includes repairs of, or alterations to, campus buildings, structures, or facilities to continue their usability at the designed level of service.

Each Job Order shall have at least 51% of the work within the advertised license classification specified herein. Work outside said license classification may be required when said work is considered incidental and supplemental to the performance of the work in the craft for which the specialty contractor is licensed and is essential to the accomplishment of the work in which the contractor is classified. Contractor shall either self-perform said Incidental and Supplemental work or subcontract said work to an appropriately licensed subcontractor in accordance with California Business and Professions Code requirements.

Refer to Exhibit 21 of the bidding documents for Electrical construction work excluded from this UPJO.

The total combined cost for all Job Orders issued will not exceed the Maximum Contract Value of $5,000,000.00 during the 1-year Base Term and $5,000,000.00 during each 1-year Option Term, if exercised by University.

When the work of a job consists only of the trade of this UPJO, the cost of any individual Job Order Authorization will be from $50,000.00 to $500,000.00.

When the work of a job consists of multiple trades, the cost of any individual Job Order Authorization for this UPJO will be from $100.00 to $500,000.00.

Subject to conditions prescribed by the University of California, Los Angeles, sealed bids for a Job Order Contract contract are invited for the following work:

The University is seeking to hire a contractor to self-perform without subcontractors, single-trade flooring construction work that will be delivered by Job Order Contracting (JOC), and occurring on the UCLA Westwood campus as well as off-campus facilities owned by the University. A list of all on-campus and off-campus buildings applicable to this work is contained in the bidding documents. This is stand-alone flooring work which will not be combined with other trades.

Applicable flooring materials shall include the following: broadloom carpet, carpet tile, carpet pad, tackless strips, tiled or planked resilient flooring, sheet rolled resilient flooring, seaming or welding rods, wall base molding (wood or resilient), wall shoe base, metal edging, rubber, vinyl, or metal transitions, wood transitions, adhesives, floor sealants, underlayments, rubber stair treads or treading, metal thresholds, toilet installation accessories, floor drain covers, caulking, concrete sealers, ceramic and stone tile and grout, and all other items necessary to complete the work.

Excluded from flooring scope shall be epoxy polyurethane finish flooring.

As described in more details in the Bidding Documents, flooring work shall include any or all of the following as specified on a job order basis: demolition/removal of existing flooring and other ancillary materials; recycling of removed carpet as specified and in accordance with manufacturers' requirements; preparation of existing floor to receive new materials; installation of new flooring related materials furnished by Contractor or University, as applicable.

Contractor shall store in a bonded warehouse all flooring material either previously purchased by University or purchased by Contractor and used under this contract. Contractor shall arrange to pick up current inventories from previous contractor and store in a bonded warehouse. Contractor shall furnish monthly reports of current inventories of material purchased, stored, used and recycled.

The value of each Job Order performed Off-Campus will be between $1,500.00 and $200,000.00.

The value of each Job Order performed On-Campus will be between $7,500.00 and $200,000.00.

The Job Order Contract will have a Maximum Contract Value of $1,000,000.00 for the 1-year Base Term, and $1,000,000.00 during each 1-year Option Term, if exercised by University.

Mechanical and lighting improvements to reduce energy consumption in the MacDonald Research Laboratory (MRL) building. Work shall include converting laboratory and office air handling units from Constant Air Volume (CAV) to Variable Air Volume (VAV), upgrading mechanical systems to direct digital control (DDC), providing occupancy sensors and modify exhaust controls on fume hoods, converting pneumatic office zones to DD, providing a new heat recovery chiller, replacing existing lighting with LED and repair of finished impacted by work.

MRL building shall be fully occupied and operational during performance. Work shall be performed during regular and off-hours depending on location of work and sensitivity of work to building occupants.

This sanitary sewer line is owned by the City of Los Angeles and serves as the main line receiving sanitary sewer from campus facilities located along Veteran Avenue, large portions of the Southwest campus, and other properties in the area not owned by the University. The work of this project will be performed under a B-Permit issued by the City of Los Angeles.

The existing sewer line section between Weyburn Avenue and Wilshire consists of approximately 1600 lineal feet of 12” pipe and manholes. This project scope consists of excavation, demolitions and removal of existing pipe and manhole, providing new 18” diameter pipe, adding new manholes, connecting to existing manholes and sewer laterals, and restoring existing surfaces and improvement disturbed by the construction work. Incidental access and staging will be required on University property.

The scope of work also includes obtaining all permits, inspections, traffic control and coordination with adjacent construction projects. Contractor shall also meet with the City of Los Angeles Major Transit and Transportation Construction Traffic Control Committee (TCTMC), to review implementation plan and schedule and respond to comments by the Committee and LADOT.

Renovation of CHS 105 for the installation of a new GE Cyclotron by others. The project will provide improvements to the approximately 1,497 square feet CHS 105 for the installation of the new Cyclotron by others.

The existing Cyclotron will be removed by others prior to work of this Contract. Contractor shall provide improvements as specified and work with University to coordination the new Cyclotron installation and cyclotron commissioning by others.
