The University seeks to hire a contractor to perform asphalt construction work on an "as needed" basis that will be delivered by Unit Price Job Order (UPJO), and occur on the UCLA Westwood campus as well as off-campus facilities owned by the University. As described in more detail in the Bidding Documents, work under the UPJO will be limited to the following:

Asphalt construction work related to Minor Capital Improvement Projects as well as work which includes repairs of, or alterations to, buildings, structures, or facilities to continue their usability at the designed level of service.

Each Job Order shall have at least 51% of the work within the advertised license classification specified herein. Work outside said license classification may be self-performed by Contractor when said work is considered incidental and supplemental to the performance of the work in the craft for which the specialty contractor is licensed and is essential to the accomplishment of the work in which the contractor is classified. In such cases, the value of said incidental and supplemental work shall not exceed 5% of the Job Order Sum. If the work outside the Contractor’s license classification exceeds 5% of the Job Order Sum, then Contractor must either hold the appropriate additional specialty license classification or subcontract the work to an appropriately licensed subcontractor.

The total combined cost for all Job Orders issued will not exceed the Maximum Contract Value of $1,000,000.00 during the 1-year Base Term and $1,000,000.00 during each 1-year Option Term, if exercised by University.

When the work of a job consists only of the trade of this UPJO, the cost of any individual Job Order Authorization will be from $5,000.00 to $500,000.00.

When the work of a job consists of multiple trades, the cost of any individual Job Order Authorization for this UPJO will be from $100.00 to $500,000.00.

The UCLA Football Performance Center Audio Video systems encompass typical classroom systems, lecture hall systems, gym audio and foreground music systems, general background music systems, digital signage systems and IPTV systems. The classroom and lecture hall systems are designed around typical classroom functionality with a fiber based interconnecting router. As a preference of the program, Panasonic or equal displays and laser projectors shall be used for display. Locker room and gym areas require high quality audio and are also equipped with visual displays for TV and signage as well as digital clocks. Individual offices and shared open spaces are equipped with a display and PC input plus signage and IPTV. Meeting rooms shall be equipped as full featured video and audio conferencing presentation rooms with Cisco VTC and Biamp VoIP systems or equal. Fiber infrastructure is also included for room to headend, headend to headend and headend to strategic broadcast points in the facility. Crestron or equal shall be the control system and shall require a master programmer with the ability to handle MAC Reservation DHCP programming. Crestron Fusion or equal shall be used for deployment throughout for scheduling panels, Global Device Management, Central Help Desk, Smart Building Integration, Space Utilization other features as requested by University. Digital signage system is designed to be integrated with the IPTV system to avoid the requirement of placing a receiver at each and every display.

This Project shall improve approximately 52,000 gsf of exterior plaza area at the UCLA Medical Plaza complex. The scope of work shall include upgrades to hardscape, landscape, lighting and signage in the central area between the 100, 200 and 300 buildings. All work is on the exterior of the buildings. The Project shall construct a total of (4) trellis structures: one at each of the main entrances of the three buildings and one at the connecting stair from the Medical Plaza to the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. These structures shall mark the building entrances, provide a prominent place to identify building names, and create shaded seating areas for visitors. The scope of work shall also: replace worn surface pavers with new waterproofing and concrete paving to match campus standards; update existing monument signs to improve wayfinding, recognize donors, and distinguish the outpatient facilities from the hospital and other campus buildings; replace existing plant material; provide seating adjacent to the new planting areas; and provide new irrigation systems and lighting.

The existing UCLA Warner Art Studios building is an approximately 30,000 sq.ft building. The project site is located at 8535 Warner Drive in Culver City, approximately 4.5 miles south of the UCLA campus. The Project shall demolish approximately 9,000 square feet of the existing building, renovate 21,000-gross-square-foot (gsf) of the existing warehouse building, and construct an 18,500-gsf addition on the same site. The Project shall also provide 5,700 gsf of covered, unenclosed space to accommodate art production, commons space, and a garden on the exterior of the building. Upon completion, the facility shall be increased by approximately 15,200 gsf, from 30,000 gsf to 45,200 gsf.

Interior finishes shall include carpet, linoleum and sheet vinyl flooring, paint and casework. The Project shall provide telephone and communications connectivity conduit and cabling, cable television, and a security system at building entry doors. The scope of work shall include limited building demolition, excavation and construction of new seismic sheer walls and foundation footings; new building construction including elevators, a raked floor classroom, atrium(s) event space(s) and the Admissions and Dean's suite of offices, provision of domestic water, fire water, sewer, gas, electrical, AV, security and telecommunications utilities; installation of paving, landscaping, irrigation, site drainage, parking structure waterproofing, a complete lighting plan; signage and graphics package; and provision of fire sprinkler and fire alarm systems. Additional work includes code review, waterproofing detailing and acoustic studies, daylighting, energy modeling and LEED® certification.

The completed Project shall accommodate individual student artist studios and a central open area, a gallery space, three shop spaces and adjoining yards, an elevator to the second level that will house digital lab and classroom space along with a small residential unit.
