DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Contractor shall provide the demolition of interior finishes for seven (7) existing rooms on the “B” level of CHS as specified in the specifications and drawings. Contractor shall furnish all labor, material, and equipment to replace an existing emergency 80 Kw, 3-phase diesel generator at UCLA’s Faculty Levering Apartments, located at 827 Levering Avenue. The work also includes installing an exhaust flue for new generator. The specifications and drawings describe the location, the generator make and model, performance requirements, Fire/Safety requirements and Southern California Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) permitting requirements for the operating process of the emergency generator. Work shall include all electrical, fire-alarm, mechanical, concrete and structural work required to replace the existing generator including all connections to power, air intake, filtering and exhaust systems and related Fire Life Safety equipment.

Contractor shall restore the surrounding walls, ceilings, doors, louvers, facade of the generator room, building and adjacent spaces in which the unit resides. Contractor shall be responsible for proper disposal or recycling of the removed existing generator and all chemical waste including all fuels, coolants and lubricants.

Contractor shall coordinate, plan, and furnish crane services as required, for the removal of the existing generator and installation of the new generator, as well as the provision of a temporary generator to provide continuous service during work. At no time shall Contractor permit the building to be without back-up electrical service.

Subject to conditions prescribed by the University of California, Los Angeles, sealed bids for a Unit Price Job Order ("UPJO") contract are invited for the following work:

The University seeks to hire a contractor to perform plumbing construction work on an "as needed" basis that will be delivered by Unit Price Job Order (UPJO), and occur on the UCLA Westwood campus as well as off-campus facilities owned by the University. As described in more detail in the Bidding Documents, work under the UPJO will be limited to the following:

Plumbing work related to Minor Improvement Projects as well as work which includes repairs of, or alterations to, campus buildings, structures, or facilities to continue their usability at the designed level of service.

Each Job Order shall have at least 51% of the work within the advertised license classification specified herein. Work outside said license classification may be self-performed by Contractor when said work is considered incidental and supplemental to the performance of the work in the craft for which the specialty contractor is licensed and is essential to the accomplishment of the work in which the contractor is classified. In such cases, the value of said incidental and supplemental work shall not exceed 5% of the Job Order Sum. If the work outside the Contractor’s license classification exceeds 5% of the Job Order Sum, then Contractor must either hold the appropriate additional specialty license classification or subcontract the work to an appropriately licensed subcontractor.

The total combined cost for all Job Orders issued will not exceed the Maximum Contract Value of $5,000,000.00 during the 1-year Base Term and $5,000,000.00 during each 1-year Option Term, if exercised by University.

When the work of a job consists only of the trade of this UPJO, the cost of any individual Job Order Authorization will be from $50,000.00 to $500,000.00.

When the work of a job consists of multiple trades, the cost of any individual Job Order Authorization for this UPJO will be from $500.00 to $500,000.00.

Subject to conditions prescribed by the University of California, Los Angeles, sealed bids for a CM at Risk contract are invited from prequalified CM/Contractors for the following work:

Provide seismic corrections to the four-story UCLA Arthur Ashe Student Health and Wellness Center (The Ashe Center), which has a current seismic safety rating of Level VI. Upon completion of the work, the seismic rating would be upgraded to at least seismic performance Level IV and provide improvements consistent with code and accessibility upgrades. The seismic work occurs on levels 1-4 and the roof.

Work shall include:

1. Seismic Corrections include beam-column moment connections, collector strengthening, and diaphragm strengthening. Structural deficiencies may require reinforcement of various interior and exterior walls.

2. Mandatory code corrections triggered by the structural work would include disabled access upgrades along the path of travel as required by code.

3. Repair and restoration of exterior finishes and interior architectural finishes impacted by the work at all levels.

4. Removal of interior finishes impacted by structural work and replacement in-kind.

5. Reroutes of MEP/FP/FA/Lighting/Low Voltage infrastructure and systems put-back.

6. Hazardous material abatement, as required.

7. Preconstruction services.

The buildings will remain occupied and operational during construction and the CM/Contractor shall identify occupants impacted by work. Work may be sequenced and phased with the performance of disruptive work occurring during off-hours.
