MP200 Suite B114 Nuc Med Equipment Installation
Description

MP200 SUITE B114 NUCLEAR MEDICINE EQUIPMENT INSTALLATION PROJECT

Public Notice of Delegated Approval

In accordance with established University of California (UC) procedures, the Chancellor of the University of California, Los Angeles has approved the MP200 Suite B114 Nuclear Medicine Equipment Installation Project pursuant to a delegation of authority from the UC Regents and UC President. The purpose of this notice is to advise the public of the project approval.

The project involves the renovation of approximately 2,544 gross square feet (GSF) (2,207 assignable square feet [ASF]) on the B-1 level of the Peter V. Morton Medical Building (known as MP200), located on campus at 200 Medical Plaza, to create imaging and support areas to accommodate four new nuclear medicine equipment units. The Nuclear Medicine Department at UCLA Health proposes to reconfigure and renovate Office Rooms B114-38, B114-43, B114-47, B114-51, B114-53, B114-55, B114-59, B114-61, B114-65, B114-69, and B114-71; Conference Room B114-42; Restroom B114-39; Corridors B114-40CO, B114-50CO, and B114-60CO; and a portion of Corridor B114-30CO. The renovated space would provide new patient treatment areas, including imaging, equipment, and control rooms. The scope of work includes interior demolition; the construction of new interior partitions; installation of new doors, flooring, ceilings, and wall finishes; new casework, lighting, and plumbing fixtures; structural strengthening and equipment anchorage; modifications to the fire alarm, fire sprinkler, nurse call, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems to accommodate the new program; installation of lead shielding, signage, and data conduit and cabling for communications and security systems connectivity; and testing and commissioning of all new equipment components. Networking equipment will be installed in Prep Office B114-22. There would be no change in gross floor area or medical uses as a result of this project. Construction of the MP200 Suite B114 project is anticipated to begin in November 2027 and be complete in June 2029.

As a related project, the nuclear medicine physicians and research team currently occupying the offices in the project area would be relocated to the adjacent Suite B121; tenant improvements are proposed therein to renovate that space for the nuclear medicine team’s use and would be completed prior to construction in Suite B114 so that patient services could continue uninterrupted. The office improvements would include new flooring, fresh paint, and upgrades to power/data systems. The UCLA Health Facilities Department which formerly occupied Suite B121 was previously relocated to Suite 3132A in the Ueberroth Building located at 10945 Le Conte Avenue, where minor tenant improvements were also completed, consisting of the installation of new flooring. Although proceeding separately with independent approvals, these related projects have been evaluated collectively pursuant to CEQA.

Project Name
901 Levering Student Housing
Description

901 LEVERING STUDENT HOUSING PROJECT

Notice of Intent (NOI) to Adopt a Mitigated Negative Declaration (MND)

Draft Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration

The proposed Project involves the construction of an approximately 310,000 square foot (SF), 19-story student housing building for UCLA undergraduate students on an approximately 0.74-acre Project site located at 901 Levering Avenue adjacent to the UCLA campus. Five existing University-owned two- and three-level apartment buildings with 42 units and 52 beds, totaling 23,952 SF, would be demolished. The proposed Project would provide up to 1,150 beds within a combination of one-, two-, three, and primarily four-bedroom units. The proposed Project would include common courtyard and terrace areas oriented towards Levering Avenue, as well as a lobby/lounge, office, laundry facilities, a mail/package room, a vending area, an outdoor covered fitness area, bicycle parking, and study rooms. There would also be spaces for housekeeping and maintenance, mechanical equipment, and trash collection. On-site vehicular parking for residents and guests would not be provided. A loading/parking area accessed from Levering Avenue would provide two parking spaces for service vehicles, deliveries, and trash removal. Pedestrian access to the proposed building would be provided from a main entry courtyard on Levering Avenue and from a secondary entrance on Level 4 at Weyburn Place. New utilities would be installed onsite and would connect to existing utility infrastructure surrounding the site. The Project would achieve at minimum a LEED Gold rating and strive for a Platinum rating. Earthwork necessary for building construction would require excavation to a maximum depth of approximately 52.5 feet, as measured from the Weyburn Place elevation, and require the net export of approximately 60,900 cubic yards of soil. Construction is anticipated to begin in 2026, with completion in 2030.

An Initial Study (IS) for the proposed Project has been prepared. Based upon the analysis presented in the IS, it has been determined that with the incorporation of mitigation measures, the proposed Project will not have a significant effect on the environment. Pursuant to the requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and the State CEQA Guidelines, a 30-day public review period will extend from November 12 through December 12, 2025. Additionally, a virtual public meeting regarding the Project will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2025. Details and the meeting registration link are in the NOI (available below).

Description

UCLA HEALTH SPORTS MEDICINE INSTITUTE PROJECT (5210 PACIFIC CONCOURSE TENANT IMPROVEMENTS)

Notice of Intent (NOI) to Adopt a Mitigated Negative Declaration (MND)

Draft Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration

The proposed Project involves the adaptive reuse of an existing approximately 170,000-gross-square-foot (gsf) two-story life sciences building located at 5210 Pacific Concourse Drive in unincorporated Los Angeles County (County). The proposed Project would create a new Sports Medicine Institute, relocate an off-campus UCLA Health Clinical Microbiology Laboratory, and include a community fill pharmacy, specialty pharmacy, café, conference room, administrative offices, storage, and other support spaces. In addition to the tenant improvements for these uses, the proposed Project includes improvements to the building mechanical and utility systems, accessibility improvements, safety and security upgrades, new electric vehicle chargers, and minor modifications to the existing landscaping and surface parking. The Project would achieve at minimum a LEED ID+C Certified rating and would strive to achieve a LEED Gold rating. Earthwork necessary for utility trenching and limited grading would generally be on the order of a few inches to a few feet, but not be deeper than approximately 7 feet, and would require the net export of approximately 150 cubic yards of soil. Construction is anticipated to begin in 2026, with completion in 2028.
